SACRED WOOD / PALO SANTO
Palo Santo is used for energetic cleansing of spaces, people, and crystals.
Its rich, aromatic scent is deeply relaxing. In winter, it may help ease symptoms of colds and flu, while in summer its fragrant smoke is traditionally believed to repel insects.
Peruvian Indigenous people and shamans have used Palo Santo in healing, religious, and magical rituals for thousands of years. It is traditionally lit during ceremonies to clear energy and invite positivity. It carries similar cleansing properties to white sage.
It produces a pleasant, fresh-smelling smoke with hints of mint and citrus, which is also said to repel mosquitoes and other insects. It is believed to ward off negative energies and attract positive ones.
It is especially suitable for preparation before meditation, as its aroma raises energetic vibration and supports a deeper connection with Source.
Palo Santo is also said to stimulate creativity and bring good luck to those who open themselves to its magic.
In South America, it has traditionally been used to support colds, flu symptoms, stress, asthma, headaches, anxiety, depression, inflammation, and emotional pain.
The “magic” of Palo Santo is said to occur through a natural chemical transformation after the tree’s death. After it falls, it must rest in its natural environment for 4 to 10 years. Only then does it complete its transformation, developing its medicinal and mystical properties and truly becoming “Sacred Wood.”
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
When you light the stick, let it burn for about 1 minute. Hold it at a 45-degree angle so the wood catches properly. Then blow out the flame and use the smoke to cleanse your space, body, or anything you wish to purify energetically.
While smudging, you can repeat positive affirmations and visualize the space filling with uplifting energy. Unlike some other incense that burns completely, Palo Santo can be relit and used multiple times.
